Enhancements to simplify rental co

Alamo Rent A Car has significantly enhanced its online booking website to ensure customers have absolutely no doubt over what is and isn't included in their rental rate.

Alamo pioneered all-inclusive rates so that all the renter's basic needs are covered and recently launched GPS inclusive rates for North America. To give customers greater flexibility and choice over their rental, these inclusive rates are complemented by a range of additional options in each destination such as child seats, additional drivers and GPS which are often paid for locally.

Through enhancements to, customers can now see exactly what's included in the rental rate - particularly useful for customers taking inclusive offers such as Alamo Gold - plus the cost of any additional items they have selected, prior to confirmation. Most importantly, the cost for any items to be paid locally is now shown both in local currency and with an approximate GBP conversion.

Tom Middleditch, Marketing Manager for Alamo said: –The last thing we want our customers to worry about when they arrive at one of our locations is unexpected costs or currency conversions. These enhancements to the site will therefore make it much easier for customers to identify any additional items they need and anticipate what charges will be made at the destination. This latest update is part of Alamo's ongoing commitment to help customers enjoy high quality, cost-effective car rental around the world.

Booking Car Rental on

Booking car rental with Alamo is easy. Customers first select the pick up and drop off points and duration – choosing whether they wish to pre-pay or pay locally. They then select the car type from those on offer for the location. Each car group is depicted with luggage and passenger capacity and the cost for the rental so customers can make an immediate decision about the car group appropriate for their journey and budget. Once this has been selected the customer is taken to a clear breakdown of everything included in the rental rate.

At this point the customer is offered a list of additional options payable locally such as child seats, additional drivers or GPS available for the destination, showing clearly the cost in local currency. Once the customer has selected any additional items required, the total cost is calculated with an approximate conversion to GBP so that they know what the likely charge will be, depending on the exchange rate the day they collect the vehicle.
