These Terms and Conditions form the contract for the prepaid booking of a vehicle with Alamo (the 'booking contract'). The contracting parties to the booking contract are Alamo Rent-A-Car UK ('us' or 'we') and 'you' the customer that has made the prepaid booking. Alamo Rent-A-Car UK Limited is a limited liability company established under the laws of England with a registered office at Enterprise House, Vicarage Road, Egham, Surrey TW20 9FB with a company registry number of 2946689 and a VAT number of GB 641634450. We provide a reservation system for all of our affiliates and their franchisees and licensees that operate under the Alamo brands (collectively referred to in these Terms and Conditions as "Alamo"). The details of your prepaid booking are as set out in the email confirmation sent to the email address you provided at the time of booking.
Cancellation and Cancellation Charges
You do not have a right of withdrawal from the booking under EU law; however, you may cancel your booking at any time for any reason by following the instructions on our website. You will receive a full refund of the total amount of the booking if you cancel your booking 3 days or more before your specified pick up time.
If you cancel your booking less than 3 days but at least 24 hours before your specified pick up time, we will refund the total amount of the booking minus the lesser of: i) the total amount of the booking; and ii) £25 for UK residents. If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before your specified pick up time, you will not be entitled to a refund of your booking.
The refund due to you will be made to the credit card you used to make your booking.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking at any time upon notice but only for good cause, such as an event of Force Majeure affecting availability of vehicles; a breach of a rental contract by you including a failure to pay any balance due for rentals; harassment or other abusive behaviour towards employees or customers of Alamo, it affiliates, licensees, and franchisees; or your fraudulent activity. For this purpose, Force Majeure is defined as storms or weather conditions, earthquakes, floods, or other acts of God, war and armed conflicts, transportation strikes or other events or conditions beyond the control of Alamo which results in a shortage of vehicles at the rental branch specified in the booking. In the event of such cancellation, we will refund the total amount of the booking.
When booking your vehicle please ensure the dates and times entered are correct. If your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates/times, please modify your booking by following the instructions on our website.
You may modify your reservation online at any time up until 12 hours before your specified pick up time. We do not charge a modification fee but the new booking will be at prevailing market rates. Within the last 12 hours before pick up, you may not modify your booking.
No-shows - late and early arrivals
For non-airport bookings - A vehicle will be held for 2 hours after the specified pick up time. After this time we cannot guarantee that a vehicle will be available upon your arrival.
For airport bookings - If you have included a flight number with your booking, a vehicle will be held until the flight has landed and cleared. If a flight delay results in your arrival after the branch closing time, a staff member will wait for the flight to land and clear. If the delay is in excess of 1 hour after the branch closing time, an out of hours?? fee may apply. If you have not included a flight number with your booking, we will hold a vehicle for a period of up to 2 hours after your specified pick up time or until branch closing time, whichever is earlier.
If you arrive at the rental branch 1 day or more before the date shown on the booking, we may not have a selected vehicle available. The rental branch will honour your booking subject to the availability of the selected vehicle.
If you fail to collect a vehicle on the specified pick-up date or if a vehicle was unavailable due to your late arrival as provided above, you will not receive a refund of your booking.
Unused Rental Days
Any unused rental days or options on prepaid bookings are non-refundable.
The booking contract is a contract to ensure that the selected vehicle class is available to you for rental at the time and location specified in your booking subject to these Terms and Conditions. It is not a contract for vehicle rental services. The rental contract between Alamo and you for the use of the vehicle during the rental period will be exclusively entered into at the time you pick up the vehicle at the relevant branch location and will be entered into by the relevant local Alamo entity, affiliate or franchisee, will be subject to local standard terms and conditions in effect at the time and place of the rental, and will be subject to the law of the place of rental.
Minimum Age Requirements
To complete the booking process, you must provide your age to verify compliance with any minimum age requirements. Your booking will include any extra charges related to age restrictions for the rental location in your booking
Cross Border Policy
If you intend to drive the rental vehicle cross border to other countries, please contact the rental location before making your booking to verify any cross border restrictions. You can find the contact details for your rental location on the website.
License and Document Requirements
All drivers must have a valid driver licence in effect at least one year (or more according to the renting country and the car category) prior to the rental start date and present it at the rental counter at the commencement of the rental. A valid major credit card must also be presented at time of rental
Limitation of Liability
We, Alamo, and our respective officers, directors, employees and agents of each such entity are not liable for any delay in providing or failure to provide a vehicle if the delay or failure resulted from an event of Force Majeure as defined above and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses resulting from the booking and prepayment, our breach of these Terms and Conditions, or our negligence unless such damages were foreseeable as an obvious consequence of our breach or were contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into the booking contract.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for breach of any implied warranties that cannot be excluded by law.
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between us and you in respect of the prepaid booking of a vehicle. You acknowledge that by entering into this booking contract you are not relying on and that you will have no remedies in respect of any statement, representation, assurance, or warranty that is not set out in these Terms and Conditions.
We may assign our rights and obligations under a booking contract to another organization but this will not affect your rights under these Terms and Conditions. You may not transfer your rights or your obligations under these Terms and Conditions. The booking contract is between us and you. No other person shall have any rights to enforce its terms.
If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Terms and Conditions or if we do not enforce our rights against you or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you we shall only do so in writing.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and/or any booking contract. However, if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland or Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
We will not file a copy of the booking contract between us. You should save or print a copy of these Terms and Conditions for your records. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking.
This is a summary of the key facts you should know when hiring a vehicle, which will help you understand what will be included in your rental agreement.
The rental agreement will be entered into at the time and place of vehicle hire between you and our affiliate or franchisee of the Alamo Rent A Car/National Car Rental brand that operates the branch location (referred to as “the Rental Company”). You should always read your rental agreement in full before signing it. You can view the rental agreement in your renting country at the time of your rental pickup.
Unless you purchase a waiver or protection product or one is included in your reservation as specified above, you are responsible to the Rental Company for theft or any damage to the vehicle during the full period of your vehicle hire. This is true even if the accident was not your fault. You are liable for loss of revenue if the vehicle cannot be rented because it is damaged or stolen, a reasonable claims administration fee, diminishment of value, and for any towing, storage or impound fees of the vehicle. Unless third-party liability protection is included in your rental as provided below or is purchased by you, you are also responsible for injury or damages to third parties.
Please note your liability for damage extends until the vehicle is checked in by the Rental Company. Unless otherwise provided in the rental agreement, if you return the vehicle after the Rental Companies business hours, you will remain responsible for any damage or loss in accordance with the rental agreement until the Rental Company reopens and conducts the post-rental inspection.

Collision Damage Waiver
All vehicles rented come with a standard cover as below:

Intermediate-Midsize SUV IFAR, Fullsize FDAR, Premium Van PVAR AUD 5500.00
Your Loss or Damage Liability (“LDL”) is the amount payable by you in the event of loss or damage to the Vehicle even if you are not at fault. Your liability includes damage to the vehicle, damage to other vehicles, a Claims Administration Fee, loss of use, towing and more. For a small daily fee you can reduce your damage liability. With the purchase of CDW Collision Damage Waiver you will only be liable up to the nominated liability for the cost of repair to your vehicle or any 3rd parties’ vehicle or property.
Ecomony ECAR,ECMR, Compact CDAR, Intermediate-Midsize IDAR, Fullsize FCAR AUD 25 (excluding Location Fees & GST) per day reduces your damage liability to AUD 400.00
Intermediate-Midsize SUV IFAR, Fullsize FDAR, Premium Van PVAR AUD 28 (excluding Location Fees & GST) per day reduces your damage liability to AUD 600.00
If another person has caused the damage; Enterprise-Redspot will attempt to recover all costs from that person or his/her insurer. The amount paid by you towards damage liability will be refunded to you to the extent Enterprise-Redspot is successful in recovering all costs.
Where the Vehicle is hired from a remote Location and driven between sunset and sunrise outside a city province, and loss or damage is the result of a single vehicle accident the renter will be liable for all losses incurred.
Super Collision Damage Waiver
All vehicles rented come with a standard cover as below- Enterprise- Ecomony ECAR or ECMR, Compact CDAR, Intermediate or Midsize IDAR, Fullsize FCAR 2,750 AUD Intermediate or Midsize SUV IFAR, Fullsize FDAR, Premium Van PVAR 3,300 AUD. Your Loss or Damage Liability - LDL is the amount payable by you in the event of loss or damage to the Vehicle even if you are not at fault. Your liability includes damage to the vehicle, damage to other vehicles, a Claims Administration Fee, loss of use, towing and more. For a small daily fee you can reduce your damage liability. With the purchase of SCDW Super Collision Damage Waiver you will only be liable up to the nominated liability for the cost of repair to your vehicle or any 3rd parties’ vehicle or property. Enterprise- Ecomony ECAR or ECMR, Compact CDAR, Intermediate or Midsize IDAR, Fullsize FCAR 27 AUD excluding Location Fees and GST per day reduces your damage liability to 0 AUD Intermediate or Midsize SUV IFAR, Fullsize FDAR 29 AUD excluding Location Fees and GST per day reduces your damage liability to 0 AUD Premium Van PVAR 29 AUD excluding Location Fees and GST per day reduces your damage liability to 330 AUD If another person has caused the damage- Enterprise-Redspot will attempt to recover all costs from that person or his or her insurer. The amount paid by you towards damage liability will be refunded to you to the extent Enterprise-Redspot is successful in recovering all costs. This is the roadside assistance service that kicks in where standard breakdown service ends. Premium Roadside Assistance covers those times when you just need a helping hand to get on your way, like fitting a spare tyre or opening a car with the keys locked in.
Services offered in the Premium Roadside Assistance program include:
• Change a flat tyre (install vehicle’s spare tyre)
• Lockout service if you are locked out of your car
• Fuel delivery - up to 15 litres at no charge if you run out of fuel
• Jump starting your car if the battery is run flat (lights left on)
• AUD 150 of accommodation or transport costs (reimbursement of expenses as a result of rental car breakdown)
Premium Roadside Assistance is there to help you 24/7. For a daily fee of AUD 3.50 for all car groups; customers save on all of the above and receive total peace of mind.
Please Note: Premium Roadside Assistance will coordinate provider services for you. You will need to be present with the vehicle for Premium Roadside Assistance services to be provided. The relevant phone number to contact can be found on the rental agreement wallet which you will receive when collecting your vehicle.
This rental does not include equipment products.

Your rental will be subject to the following minimum requirements:
Minimum driver age of 21 years old. There is no maximum age, however under 25 years old will only be able to reduce their damage liability to AUD 330.00.
A young driver surcharge of AUD 14 per day which excludes Location Fee and GST applies to all Drivers aged between 21-24 years old.
Drivers aged between 21-24 are restricted to vehicles ECMR, ECAR, CDAR & IDAR only.
All drivers must have held their licence for a minimum of 1 (one) year. If any driver is on a probationary licence there is an additional Probationary Licence Fee of AUD 17 per day which excludes Location Fee and GST.
Forms of Payment
For payments and deposits we accept all major credit cards, debit cards and cash. Charges for options and coverage must be settled at the commencement of the rental together with a deposit (bond). The credit card holder is listed as the hirer and must be present at the time of rental commencement. The credit card deposit (by way of authorisation) is between AUD 200.00 - AUD 1,000.00
A credit card fee applies as follows and is applicable to all rental charges (excluding the deposit bond) including any optional items purchased and damage liability charges. There is no refund of credit card surcharges:

Visa and MasterCard - 1.50 (Excluding GST)
The cash or debit card deposit is AUD 1,000.00. An administration fee of AUD 55.00 applies to clients who leave a cash bond. Cash Bonds will only be refunded as direct deposits into Australian bank accounts or by cheque made out in Australian Dollars. The refund process may take 14 days after return of the vehicle. We do not hold cash on the premises. A cash deposit must be pre arranged and approved and can only be done during the hours of 09:00 - 16:00 Mon - Fri
Union Pay Cards:
We are now able to accept Visa and MasterCard that have the Union Pay logo on the card. Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to accept a Union Pay card that has been branded only by Union Pay (these cards start with a 6, 8 or 9)
To ensure you accept only the correct card, please take note of the following: All three items MUST be present on either the front or back of the card to be accepted:
1. The China Union Pay logo is a red / blue / green striped logo and will be found on the front of the card
2. The Visa Credit card logo is the standard silver hologram of the Visa 'Dove', this can be found either on the front or back of the Credit card. This hologram indicates to staff that the card is a “credit” card. Union Pay Debit cards do not have the hologram. Debit cards are NOT accepted at this time.
3. The standard Visa logo will be located on the front of the card and has the word “VISA” in blue and gold. Important: Single branded Union Pay Debit cards have a CUP logo only. See example's shown below. They do not have a hologram, or any other bank logo.
We accept current Australian, International and overseas licences. Overseas licences that are not easily identifiable as a drivers licence must be accompanied by an International Licence or English translation. Valid driver’s licence must be held for a minimum of 12 months.

Cross Boarder Policy
The Renter must not use the Vehicle outside the Permitted Area of Use. If the renter takes the Vehicle outside the Permitted Area of Use their Liability for any loss or damage will increase and any optional damage waiver selected void.
For Vehicles rented in Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania & South Australia, the permitted area of use DOES NOT include Western Australia or the Northern Territory.
Vehicles may not be driven above the snow line (from June to October), on beaches, in watercourses or rivers.
“Permitted Area of Use” means the area in which the Vehicle may be driven. The Permitted Area of Use is limited as follows;
1. For those Vehicles-hired outside the Northern Territory and Western Australia, the Permitted Area of Use does not include the Northern Territory or Western Australia.
2. For those Vehicles hired from the Northern Territory, the Permitted Area of use does not include any other States or Territories of Australia.
3. For those Vehicles hired in the Northern Territory on the road to Jim Jim Gorge and Twin Falls or north of the Oodnadatta Track (including the following areas: Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Witjira National Park and Pedirka Desert).
4. For those Vehicles hired from Western Australia, the Permitted Area of Use does not include any other states or Territories of Australia and does not include any place further north or East than Exmouth or further east than Kalgoorlie-Boulder Township or Esperance.
5. The Permitted Area of Use in Queensland does not include any place further north than Cooktown or in a westerly direction beyond Chillagoe and Georgetown. The Permitted Area of Use does not include the ‘Bloomfield Track’ coastal route between Cape Tribulation and Cooktown or Fraser Island and Stradbroke Island.
6. The Permitted Area of Use in South Australia does not include any place further north than Wilpena or in a westerly direction beyond Ceduna.
Mileage charges if applicable will be quoted in the Rental Summary at time of booking
You will be required to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel provided, pre purchased fuel options maybe available. Please ask on arrival if required
Each additional additional driver is charged at a flat fee per day of AUD 3.50 which excludes Location Fee and GST. The fee is capped at 6 days.
For Enterprise and National bookings additional drivers are included.
You will be responsible for the following additional charges or liabilities if incurred:
- Additional rental charges for changes you make to the booked rental vehicle, rental period or optional products
- Damages, theft or third-party liabilities not covered by a protection product
- Any fines or penalty charges relating to the operation of the vehicle during your rental period, such as parking or speeding fines, plus reasonable administration charges
- Rental charges for late returns
- Any legal fees incurred collecting any payments due under the terms of the rental agreement
- A reasonable collection fee if a vehicle is not returned to the original rental office
- The cost of cleaning the vehicle if you return the vehicle in a dirty condition
When you complete the rental agreement you will be required to present a valid credit or debit card as security for any charges incurred during your rental. Your signature on the rental agreement will pre-authorise the Rental Company to charge the card for future payments that become due. The Rental Company may also hold a deposit against these future liabilities. In the country of your rental the deposit amount varies.
