These Terms and Conditions form the contract for the prepaid booking of a vehicle with Alamo (the 'booking contract'). The contracting parties to the booking contract are Alamo Rent-A-Car UK ('us' or 'we') and 'you' the customer that has made the prepaid booking. Alamo Rent-A-Car UK Limited is a limited liability company established under the laws of England with a registered office at Enterprise House, Vicarage Road, Egham, Surrey TW20 9FB with a company registry number of 2946689 and a VAT number of GB 641634450. We provide a reservation system for all of our affiliates and their franchisees and licensees that operate under the Alamo brands (collectively referred to in these Terms and Conditions as "Alamo"). The details of your prepaid booking are as set out in the email confirmation sent to the email address you provided at the time of booking.
Cancellation and Cancellation Charges
You do not have a right of withdrawal from the booking under EU law; however, you may cancel your booking at any time for any reason by following the instructions on our website. You will receive a full refund of the total amount of the booking if you cancel your booking 3 days or more before your specified pick up time.
If you cancel your booking less than 3 days but at least 24 hours before your specified pick up time, we will refund the total amount of the booking minus the lesser of: i) the total amount of the booking; and ii) £25 for UK residents. If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before your specified pick up time, you will not be entitled to a refund of your booking.
The refund due to you will be made to the credit card you used to make your booking.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking at any time upon notice but only for good cause, such as an event of Force Majeure affecting availability of vehicles; a breach of a rental contract by you including a failure to pay any balance due for rentals; harassment or other abusive behaviour towards employees or customers of Alamo, it affiliates, licensees, and franchisees; or your fraudulent activity. For this purpose, Force Majeure is defined as storms or weather conditions, earthquakes, floods, or other acts of God, war and armed conflicts, transportation strikes or other events or conditions beyond the control of Alamo which results in a shortage of vehicles at the rental branch specified in the booking. In the event of such cancellation, we will refund the total amount of the booking.
When booking your vehicle please ensure the dates and times entered are correct. If your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates/times, please modify your booking by following the instructions on our website.
You may modify your reservation online at any time up until 12 hours before your specified pick up time. We do not charge a modification fee but the new booking will be at prevailing market rates. Within the last 12 hours before pick up, you may not modify your booking.
No-shows - late and early arrivals
For non-airport bookings - A vehicle will be held for 2 hours after the specified pick up time. After this time we cannot guarantee that a vehicle will be available upon your arrival.
For airport bookings - If you have included a flight number with your booking, a vehicle will be held until the flight has landed and cleared. If a flight delay results in your arrival after the branch closing time, a staff member will wait for the flight to land and clear. If the delay is in excess of 1 hour after the branch closing time, an out of hours?? fee may apply. If you have not included a flight number with your booking, we will hold a vehicle for a period of up to 2 hours after your specified pick up time or until branch closing time, whichever is earlier.
If you arrive at the rental branch 1 day or more before the date shown on the booking, we may not have a selected vehicle available. The rental branch will honour your booking subject to the availability of the selected vehicle.
If you fail to collect a vehicle on the specified pick-up date or if a vehicle was unavailable due to your late arrival as provided above, you will not receive a refund of your booking.
Unused Rental Days
Any unused rental days or options on prepaid bookings are non-refundable.
The booking contract is a contract to ensure that the selected vehicle class is available to you for rental at the time and location specified in your booking subject to these Terms and Conditions. It is not a contract for vehicle rental services. The rental contract between Alamo and you for the use of the vehicle during the rental period will be exclusively entered into at the time you pick up the vehicle at the relevant branch location and will be entered into by the relevant local Alamo entity, affiliate or franchisee, will be subject to local standard terms and conditions in effect at the time and place of the rental, and will be subject to the law of the place of rental.
Minimum Age Requirements
To complete the booking process, you must provide your age to verify compliance with any minimum age requirements. Your booking will include any extra charges related to age restrictions for the rental location in your booking
Cross Border Policy
If you intend to drive the rental vehicle cross border to other countries, please contact the rental location before making your booking to verify any cross border restrictions. You can find the contact details for your rental location on the website.
License and Document Requirements
All drivers must have a valid driver licence in effect at least one year (or more according to the renting country and the car category) prior to the rental start date and present it at the rental counter at the commencement of the rental. A valid major credit card must also be presented at time of rental
Limitation of Liability
We, Alamo, and our respective officers, directors, employees and agents of each such entity are not liable for any delay in providing or failure to provide a vehicle if the delay or failure resulted from an event of Force Majeure as defined above and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses resulting from the booking and prepayment, our breach of these Terms and Conditions, or our negligence unless such damages were foreseeable as an obvious consequence of our breach or were contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into the booking contract.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for breach of any implied warranties that cannot be excluded by law.
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between us and you in respect of the prepaid booking of a vehicle. You acknowledge that by entering into this booking contract you are not relying on and that you will have no remedies in respect of any statement, representation, assurance, or warranty that is not set out in these Terms and Conditions.
We may assign our rights and obligations under a booking contract to another organization but this will not affect your rights under these Terms and Conditions. You may not transfer your rights or your obligations under these Terms and Conditions. The booking contract is between us and you. No other person shall have any rights to enforce its terms.
If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Terms and Conditions or if we do not enforce our rights against you or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you we shall only do so in writing.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and/or any booking contract. However, if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland or Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
We will not file a copy of the booking contract between us. You should save or print a copy of these Terms and Conditions for your records. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking.
This is a summary of the key facts you should know when hiring a vehicle, which will help you understand what will be included in your rental agreement.
The rental agreement will be entered into at the time and place of vehicle hire between you and our affiliate or franchisee of the Alamo Rent A Car/National Car Rental brand that operates the branch location (referred to as “the Rental Company”). You should always read your rental agreement in full before signing it. You can view the rental agreement in your renting country at the time of your rental pickup.
Unless you purchase a waiver or protection product or one is included in your reservation as specified above, you are responsible to the Rental Company for theft or any damage to the vehicle during the full period of your vehicle hire. This is true even if the accident was not your fault. You are liable for loss of revenue if the vehicle cannot be rented because it is damaged or stolen, a reasonable claims administration fee, diminishment of value, and for any towing, storage or impound fees of the vehicle. Unless third-party liability protection is included in your rental as provided below or is purchased by you, you are also responsible for injury or damages to third parties.
Please note your liability for damage extends until the vehicle is checked in by the Rental Company. Unless otherwise provided in the rental agreement, if you return the vehicle after the Rental Companies business hours, you will remain responsible for any damage or loss in accordance with the rental agreement until the Rental Company reopens and conducts the post-rental inspection.
Your rental agreement will include the following protection products:
Damage Waiver (DW)
The deductible that applies to cars rented at German locations is 1000 EUR for all car classes. The deductible for rentals made under corporate agreements can vary. Please contact your local branch for more information. Reduced liability cover, EP-Excess Protection, is offered at an additional charge at the time of rental. Should the renter decide to reduce his or her liability, Enterprise shall waive, in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement and applicable laws, liability claims for loss or damage to vehicle rental. Cover provided by the liability reduction may overlap with the terms of the renters existing insurance cover, e.g. credit card, insurance cover. Enterprise is not in a position to determine whether the renters existing insurance cover will suffice. The renter should check his or her relevant insurance policies to establish whether they already cover the level of protection for the rental car that is offered by the reduced liability cover.
You have the following optional protection products available for an additional charge:
IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGE OR THEFT, AN EXCESS IS APPLICABLE WHICH VARIES DEPENDING ON VEHICLE TYPE AND LOCATION. IF PURCHASED IN ADDITION TO DW, THE CUSTOMER CAN REDUCE OR ELIMINATE POSSIBLE FINANCIAL EXPOSURE CAUSED BY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO THE ENTERPRISE VEHICLE. EXCESS AMOUNTS APPLY- 1000 EUR ALL CAR CLASSES, EXCESS AMOUNT OF VANS AND 9-SEATERS VARIES DEPENDING ON LOCATIONS. EXCESS PROTECTION IS AN OPTIONAL COVERAGE THAT ALLOWS THE RENTER TO REDUCE THE EXCESS RESPONSIBILITY. THE PRICE OF EP VARIES BY VEHICLE SIZE AND LOCATION. A PREMIUM LOCATION FEE APPLIES TO AIRPORTS.
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident Insurance is an option that provides the renter and passengers with disability and death benefits. The coverage for death benefits is 15,000 EUR and up to 30,000 EUR in the even of disability. Every insured person is insured with a portion of the agreed sum as determined by the number of person insured. For two or more insured persons, the insurance coverage sums are increased by 50 percent. Persons insured under the Personal Accident Insurance policy are: all authorized passengers of the vehicle defined on the rental agreement, with the exception of drivers and passengers who are empoloyees of the insured party (professional drivers). This is only a summary subject to the conditions, limitations and exceptions of the policy issued by the insurer.
Roadside Assistance Protection
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROTECTION-RAP. RAP ALLOWS OUR CUSTOMERS TO WAIVE ALL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FOLLOWING-TYRE AND GLASS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT COSTS, EXCEPT WHEN PART OF A LARGER REPAIR, REPLACEMENT KEYS COSTS AND ALL RECOVERY AND CALL CHARGES IMPOSED BY OUR CHOSEN ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROVIDERS AS RESULT OF A FAULT CAUSED BY RENTER ERROR. RAP DOES NOT EXEMPT YOU FROM THESE CHARGES IF THERE IS ANY BREACH OF OUR RENTAL AGREEMENT. THE PRICE OF RAP IS 5,00 EUR -INCLUDING VAT.
Personal Effects Coverage
Personal Effects Coverage covers any type of baggage (clothing, shoes, suitcases, bags, toiletries, etc.) used by travelers during actual travel. Insurance coverage is provided in case of damage or destruction caused by: vehicle accident, elemental dangers (storm, hailstones, etc.), fire, lightning, expolsion, collision or crash of flying objects or parts thereof, and burglary of the vehicle and theft of the entire vehicle. The compensation amount is limited to 1500 EUR per person and claim, up to a maximum of 4500 EUR per vehicle and claim. The deductible is 100 EUR per person and claim, up to a maximum of 300 EUR per vehicle and claim. The claim must be made immediately, within 24 hours.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT/EFFECTS COVERAGE
Pai-pec are offered at an additional charge at the time of the contract being signed. Should these insurance policies be taken out, in the event of an accident the renter and passengers shall receive, amongst other things, disability payouts and death benefits or insurance cover for baggage-belongings stolen from the vehicle. Pai-pec benefits are not affected by the renters other insurance cover. This only serves as a summary, further details can be obtained from the office. Pai-pec are subject to the conditions, limitations and exclusions that are listed, according to the contract date, in the pai policy of züich versicherung -zurich insurance. Taking out pai-pec is optional and not a requirement for vehicle rental. Cover provided by pai-pec may overlap with the terms of the renters existing insurance cover. Enterprise is not in a position to determine whether the renters existing insurance cover will suffice. The renter should check his relevant policies to establish whether they already cover the level of protection offered by the pai-pec.

Your rental will be subject to the following minimum requirements:
You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a car. Renters 21-24 years of age may rent Mini through Standard Wagon size cars. Additional fees may apply for renters below 25 years of age. Should you have questions, please contact the renting branch directly.
Forms of Payment
For retail rentals a deposit of 250 EUR plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken by VISA Card, MasterCard, American Express, VPAY or Maestro Card in the renter's name at the time of rental.
For payment we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, VPay und Maestro Card. Bookable with Maestro - VPay Credit Card - Mini through standard wagon size cars, 5 seated passenger vans, small four-wheel drives and cargo vans. For renter of 25 years and above with a credit card they are allowed to rent car class F- Full size and higher. All PrePay cards are not accepted as normal Credit cards.
All drivers must present their valid driving license and identity card or passport at time of rental. Non-English licenses issued outside of Europe must be accompanied by an international driving license in English. Rental can be completed up to 6 months after entry-date stamped in the drivers passport. Age - All drivers must be at least 21 years of age to rent a vehicle. Renters 21-24 years of age may rent car class Mini through standard wagon size cars, 5 seated passenger vans, small four-wheel drives and cargo vans. For Renters 25 years of age there is no age restriction with regards to car class.

Cross Boarder Policy
Out of country rentals require prior approval and are charged 5 Euro per day, 50 Euro per rental maximum. Out of country rentals are allowed into Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Ireland, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain. Out of Country rentals into Croatia, Italy, The Vatican, San Marino, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Hungary are allowed excluding rentals of the following brands – Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Land Rover and Jaguar. Out of country rentals are not allowed to other countries not mentioned above. For business rentals your corporate terms and conditions prevail.
Mileage charges if applicable will be quoted in the Rental Summary at time of booking
You will be required to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel provided, pre purchased fuel options maybe available. Please ask on arrival if required
There will be an additional charge of 9.00 euro per day including tax for each additional authorized driver.
You will be responsible for the following additional charges or liabilities if incurred:
- Additional rental charges for changes you make to the booked rental vehicle, rental period or optional products
- Damages, theft or third-party liabilities not covered by a protection product
- Any fines or penalty charges relating to the operation of the vehicle during your rental period, such as parking or speeding fines, plus reasonable administration charges
- Rental charges for late returns
- Any legal fees incurred collecting any payments due under the terms of the rental agreement
- A reasonable collection fee if a vehicle is not returned to the original rental office
- The cost of cleaning the vehicle if you return the vehicle in a dirty condition
When you complete the rental agreement you will be required to present a valid credit or debit card as security for any charges incurred during your rental. Your signature on the rental agreement will pre-authorise the Rental Company to charge the card for future payments that become due. The Rental Company may also hold a deposit against these future liabilities. In the country of your rental the deposit amount varies.
