Cancellation Charges

We will not charge for reservations cancelled 7 days or more before your pick up time. If you cancel your booking after this time, the following charges apply:

• If you cancel your booking less than 7 days before pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £20 whichever is the lesser.
• If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before your pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser.

In the event of a cancellation, your credit card will be refunded, less the above charge.

No-shows & late or early arrivals

Your vehicle will be held for 2 hours from the specified reserved time. After this time we cannot guarantee a vehicle will be available upon arrival.

For all airport bookings, however, where a flight number has been supplied the vehicle will be held until the flight has landed and cleared. Where a flight delay results in a customer arriving after the station closing time a member of staff will wait for the flight to land and clear. If the delay is in excess of one hour after the station closing time an out of hours fee may apply. Where no flight number has been supplied we will hold the vehicle for a period of up to 2 hours or until station closing time, which ever is the earlier. Staff will not wait beyond closing time where no flight number is supplied.

When booking your vehicle please ensure the dates entered are correct, if your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates/times please amend your reservation online.

Customers who arrive 1 day or more early at our rental stations with a reservation that does not match the current date will not be able to use the reservation reserved online. The branch may be able to offer an alternate reservation but please note the rates will not match the online reservation.

If you fail to collect your car on the specified pick-up date, we reserve the right to charge a no-show fee of either the cost of the booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser. In the event of a no-show, your credit card will be refunded, less the no-show charge.

Unused Rental Days

Please note that any unused rental days on prepaid reservations are non-refundable.

Rules and regulations - check before you travel

If you are planning to drive to abroad, you will need to be aware of your responsibilities to follow driving laws in your destination country. We strongly recommend you make your own investigations before travelling.

Driving abroad in Winter conditions

Whilst driving abroad in winter conditions, legally some countries will have restrictions on the equipment a vehicle should carry or have fitted, this can include snow tyres. Whilst driving abroad its important to adhere to the driving laws in that country. Failure to do so could result in a fine or temporary loss of your vehicle. Snow tyres and snow chains are available to hire for an additional fee and must be requested at time of booking. For online bookings where the pick-up country specified requires snow tyres a charge will normally be added to your reservation and these will be fitted to the vehicle. However, if you are planning to drive cross-border please check country requirements and request equipment be added to your reservation where appropriate by contacting our Call Centre.

We strongly recommend you make your own investigations as to whether or not you will require any additional winter equipment before travelling abroad. The RAC website (www.rac.co.uk/driving-abroad) provides additional information and tips on driving abroad.

Jordan

Additional Driver Policy

Up to 3 additional drivers allowed, at 3 Jordanian Dinars per driver per day (exc VAT)

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age is 21 years for all cars except the LCAR (Luxury). The minimum age for LCAR (Luxury) is 25 years. There is no maximum age limit. There is no young drivers surcharge.

Cross Border Policy

Cars from Jordan are not permitted to leave the country. All cars are not insured to drive off designated roads in Jordan. If done so the customer is 100% liable for any damages or costs incurred.

Delivery / Collection

During office hours : Delivery and Collection is free of charge within the capital city of Amman during office hours. A charge of 25JD + tax is applicable to all rentals delivered within the capital city of Amman outside office hours. Outside of office hours: Delivery to locations outside the capital city (Amman) are on request will be charged based on distance. To and from the Dead Sea, the charge will be 35 Jordanian Dinars + tax To and from other cities surrounding Amman, the charge will be 50 Jordanian Dinars + tax

Insurance Excess

Collision Damage Waiver & Theft Waiver limits the customer's financial responsibility for loss, damage or theft of the rental vehicle. The maximum excess that is payable in the event of one of these incidents is 500.00 JOD. The maximum excess will vary depending on the vehicle you are renting, please ask at time of rental for further information on which excess applies. If you would like to reduce or remove your excess responsibility please ask the rental staff when collecting your vehicle about additional products that are on offer .

License Requirements

Full valid drivers licence held for a minimum of 1 year. An international drivers licence is not required. Should your driving license not be resident to the country of origin of your booking we reserve the right to charge an appropriate rate for your country of residence.

One Way Rentals

Vehicles may be returned to another National / Alamo car rental location. Minimum rental length is 24 Hrs. (For all vehicles) . Charges are as follows : 35 JD + tax per rental except between Amman City and Airport which is free in either direction. This does not have to be pre booked. International one ways are not permitted.

Payment Policy

The following method of payments are accepted: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, National Charge card & National Vouchers. Dinars Club card, Travellers Cheques and Eurocheques are not accepted. Cash is accepted but only at the end of the rental if required. Cash is not accepted as a deposit - this must be paid by credit card only. The deposit amount is: 500 Jordanian Dinars plus the basic rental charges, fuel, extras, damage excess liability and traffic fines. The deposit is held on the credit card until the car is returned.

Refuelling Policy

Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the beginning of the rental. Vehicles not returned full will be charged the pump price plus 15%.

Roadside Assistance

Break down procedure: 24 Hr breakdown service is available. Details will be provided at the time of rental. Accident procedure: Customer must obtain a police report at the scene of the accident for ALL accidents or damage to a vehicle beyond minor damage or scratches. If no report is supplied for accidents, a fee of JD 300.00 will be charged.  The car must not be moved until the police have attended the scene. Customers must inform the rental office immediately. 

Special Equipment

Infant seat - CSI (1 - 9 months / up to 10kgs) - 1-6 days = JD 4.00 per day + tax, 7-29 days = JD 3.00 per day + tax, 30+ days = JD 2.00 per day + tax. A deposit of JD 100.00 is required. Toddler Seat - CST (9 months - 4 years / 10 - 18 kgs) - 1-6 days = JD 4.00 per day + tax, 7-29 days = JD 3.00 per day + tax, 30+ days = JD 2.00 per day + tax. A deposit of JD 100.00 is required. GPS - 1-6 days = JD 7.00 per day + tax, 7-29 days = JD 5.00 per day + tax, 30+ days = JD 3.00 per day + tax. A deposit of JD 200.00 is required. Equipment is available for all cars and available for one way rentals. All Equipment is on request and requires 48 hours advance notice. Please Note: the highest daily price will be loaded in the system for each equipment type. The correct price will be applied at the counter if applicable.
